Starting in less than two weeks, veterans and Gold Star families will be able to visit national parks for free.
Active-duty service members and their families are already granted free access, but the announcement this week broadens that benefit to about 20 million more individuals.
Today, @SecBernhardt announced that this Veterans Day, and from thence forward, Veterans and Gold Star families will enjoy free access to our national parks and public lands.
Thank you for your service, and your sacrifice. 🇺🇸🙏🏻https://t.co/Jt1o1O3OmJ

The policy will go into effect on Veterans Day, November 11, and includes places like Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.
