The future depicted in “The Jetsons” has arrived.
A prototype flying car has successfully completed a 35-minute test run between two airports in Slovakia, according to officials with Klein Vision, manufacturer of the AirCar. After landing, test driver Stefan Klein pushed a button and the vehicle turned into a sports car in less than three minutes, the company reports.
“It opens a new category of transportation and returns the freedom originally attributed to cars back to the individual,” Klein says of the flying vehicle. “AirCar is no longer just a proof of concept; flying at 8,200 feet at a speed of 115 miles per hour, it has turned science fiction into a reality.”
