Greek Island Bans “Obese” Tourists

If you’re traveling to Greece and want to take a ride on the famous donkeys of Santorini there may be a problem. Lawmakers in Greece have just banned “obese” tourists from riding the donkeys. With the new law, the donkey rides will now be limited to those tourists who weigh less than 220 pounds or one-fifth of the donkey’s body weight. Tourists have typically used the donkeys to travel from the shoreline to the main town and through areas cars can’t get through. After a video came out showing donkeys carrying overweight tourists, activists complained that the donkeys were being treated inhumanely. Therefore, the law was made.
