Did you know there was an actual competition for the best mullet? “Mulletfest” is held each year in New South Wales and after cutting his hair as a joke, Rob Ayton, 31, a graphic designer, has taken the top prize for having the world’s best mullet. Ayton says he didn’t like the hairstyle at first but it has since grown on him, literally. Ayton says the key to growing a good mullet is “time and patience, and being able to handle a [expletive]-ton of negative feedback.” Competitors in “Mulletfest” are judged on mullet styles such as “every day,” “grubby,” “vintage” and “extreme.”
