Police in Los Angeles made a dramatic rescue over the weekend, pulling a pilot from a plane wreck just seconds before he was struck by a train.

On Friday afternoon, the pilot lost power mid-flight and crashed his single-engine Cessna plane on top of some train tracks near Whiteman Airport.

Video shows police officers pulling the bloodied pilot from the wreckage, just seconds before a commuter train plowed into the wreckage of the aircraft.

Authorities say the pilot suffered only ‘minor injuries’ and that no one on the ground was hurt.

Have you ever flown in a small aircraft?
