This is what I’d like to call malicious compliance. After a British school banned pupils from carrying their books in bags, one student got extra creative. Spalding Grammar School felt that “injury was being caused to younger students” by using large bookbags. Their policy ordered grade 6 and up to no longer rely on shoulder bags. Jacob Ford decided to launch a protest, by first using a wicker basket then a microwave to bring his books between classes. His efforts sparked a petition to overturn the rule, which gathered 463 signatures before being removed.

The school isn’t backing down however, instead blaming Ford and his mother for “seeking to glorify her son’s behavior.”
