The Super Bowl was super boring as the Patriots beat the Rams 13-3 in the lowest scoring Super Bowl ever.
Fun fact, no Super Bowl had entered the fourth quarter without a single touchdown. Tom Brady led the only touchdown drive with about seven minutes left in the game. This was his sixth Super Bowl championship. Local Kyle Van Noy (LB) earned his second ring and had a critical sack of Goff.
In one of the few feel-good moments, Wide receiver Julian Edelman, with 10 catches and 141 yards, was the MVP. He had a significant knee injury last year, and some wondered if he could even come back.
NBA
The Utah Jazz lost to Houston 125-98…James Harden has scored 30-plus points in 26 consecutive games. He had 43 against the Jazz.
NCAA
Utah men’s and women’s basketball struggled this weekend. The No. 14 women lost to No. 4 Oregon on Friday (87-65) and lost to No. 9 Oregon State Sunday (71-63). NEXT UP: Utah hosts USC Friday, 7 p.m. and UCLA, Sunday, noon.
BYU men lost to Gonzaga on Thursday (93-63) but then beat Loyola Marymount Saturday (67-49). The BYU women lost to LMU Thursday (61-58) and Pepperdine on Saturday (79-65). Next up: No. 25 BYU hosts St. Mary’s on Thursday at 11 a.m.
