ROUND ONE

Boner Candidate #1: THE COLONEL WOULD BE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU.

CA — A woman at a KFC in California was filmed screaming at employees — and even jumping on the counter of the restaurant — after she was allegedly refused service for not wearing a mask.
Footage of the Kentucky-fried fiasco shows the maskless woman first becoming aggressive with a female employee before quickly jumping on the counter and yelling, “Gimme something to f—ing eat! I’m hungry!” The woman then directs her largely unintelligible rant at a male employee, at one point daring him to call the cops. She also threatens to “stab” the female employee unless she gets “something to eat” immediately. In a subsequent video, the woman clarifies her order (“mashed potatoes and chicken!”) despite being told that she won’t be provided with food. “I can’t,” another employee tells her. “I’ll get fired.” “You don’t even work here!” the woman yells back at the KFC employee, who, quite clearly, does indeed work at the KFC. Shortly afterward, the woman marches across the counter and kicks over a promotional sign on the far side. She again demands to know why she cannot be provided with food, at which point an employee tells her she needs to be wearing a mask.

Boner Candidate #2: NO MORE MASKS AND THE STUPIDEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET

ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4 News) — After more than one week since schools have reopened in Washington County, the Liberty Action Coalition hosted an anti-mask mandate rally in front of the school district building Friday morning. Up to a thousand people showed up in St. George, stating children being forced to wear masks in classrooms is illegal and unconstitutional and they are “tired of not being able to live their normal lives.” Many locals called concerns about coronavirus spikes “overblown” or called the virus a “hoax.” Some stated that asymptomatic carriers simply do not exist, while others stated that as citizens of the United States, they cannot be forced to wear masks anywhere. “If we want to wear a mask, that’s fine, but we can take care of ourselves,” Veyo resident Stephen Millet said. “We don’t need the government telling us what we can and can’t do.” Some rally attendees said they shouldn’t ever wear masks if they have any medical issues or mental health concerns or if they feel they simply “can’t breathe.” “George Floyd was saying, ‘I can’t breathe,’ and then he died,” St. George resident Shauna Kinville said. “Now we’re wearing a mask and saying ‘I can’t breathe,’ but we’re being forced to wear them.”

Boner Candidate #3: THE RUSSIAN AIRFORCER SUPPORTS OUR TROOPS

President Donald Trump’s campaign was caught again engaging in the careless use of stock photos, this time posting an image of Russian fighter jets in a “support our troops” ad. The ad from Trump’s fundraising committee ran Sept. 8-12, including on the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Politico reported. It said “SUPPORT OUR TROOPS” and depicted soldiers in silhouette in the foreground with aircraft behind them: But the aircraft are Russian. “That’s definitely a MiG-29,” Pierre Sprey, who helped design both the F-16 and A-10 planes for the U.S. Air Force, told Politico. “I’m glad to see it’s supporting our troops.” Trump and his campaign have had repeated issues with misusing stock images over the years. In 2015, early in his presidential campaign, Trump shared an image of himself with troops inside the U.S. flag, except the troops in the image were Nazi soldiers from WWII: In 2016, Trump posted a video supposedly showing U.S. military veterans, only the video was from a neo-Nazi account on Twitter and the troops were Soviets. The stock photo flubs go beyond military issues. Earlier this year, then-campaign manager Brad Parscale shared an image supposedly of Air Force One flying over a NASCAR event; the image was really from 2004.

ROUND TWO

Boner Candidate #1: I’D BETTER MAKE SURE THAT WAS A DEER

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg said in a statement late Monday that he discovered he had struck and killed a man walking along a rural stretch of highway only after returning to the scene the next day and discovering the body. The state’s top law enforcement officer said he initially thought he hit a deer while driving home from a Republican fundraiser on Saturday night. He is under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. Ravnsborg said he immediately called 911 after the crash on a rural stretch of U.S. Highway 14 and did not realize he had hit a man until returning to the scene the next morning and finding him while looking for the animal he thought he hit. Ravnsborg’s revelation that he had found the body of the man, 55-year-old Joseph Boever, was the latest twist in a grim incident where information has come out slowly. The Department of Public Safety issued a statement earlier Monday that said only that Ravnsborg told the Hyde County Sheriff’s Office that he had hit a deer. Department spokesman Tony Mangan would not confirm whether Ravnsborg called 911, saying it is part of the investigation.

Boner Candidate #2: THE UTEROUS COLLECTOR

Ocilla, Georgia — An immigration detention center in Georgia performed questionable hysterectomies, refused to test detainees for COVID-19 and shredded medical records, according to a nurse quoted in a complaint filed Monday. The complaint to the Homeland Security Department’s internal watchdog relies on accounts of Dawn Wooten, who worked full-time as a licensed practical nurse at the Irwin County Detention Center until July, when she was demoted to work as needed. Wooten calls a gynecologist who works outside the facility “the uterus collector.” “Everybody he sees has a hysterectomy – just about everybody,” Wooten said. “He’s even taken out the wrong ovary on a young lady.” It was unclear to Wooten if women knowingly consented to the operations. Nurses raised concerns about the doctor, who is unnamed. “These immigrant women, I don’t think they really, totally, all the way understand this is what’s going to happen depending on who explains it to them,” she is quoted saying. The facility in Ocilla, about 200 miles south of Atlanta, houses men and women detainees for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as inmates for the U.S. Marshals Service and Irwin County.

Boner Candidate #3: POOPALOSI

The YouTube star who filmed himself defecating on the driveway of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco residence said he did so as a “peaceful protest” — but admitted it was a “joke that got out of hand.” The man, who identifies himself as “Mando” on his online channels and requested to have his last name withheld for fear of retribution, told The Post that the incident started with a joke from commenters on his livestream. The 28-year-old said he’s part of a niche YouTube community that creates “IRL” or “in real life” livestream videos chronicling long stretches of unfiltered daily life. He began the channel after he became homeless six years ago, and hoped to show his viewers the realities of living on the street as he traveled from city to city. But recent coronavirus-related lockdowns made daily life increasingly difficult, Mando said — especially when businesses are closed to customers and no longer allow people to use their bathrooms. As a result, Saturday’s livestream video, titled “Poopalosi,” began as a protest against a lack of resources for people living on the streets — while people in power, such as Pelosi, are able to get haircuts and live their daily lives fairly unchanged.
