Joan Jett On Fronting Nirvana

Nirvana has only ever officially reunited a select few times, with Joan Jett taking the place of the late-Kurt Cobain on two of those occasions. Speaking on Consequence of Sound’s podcast Kyle Meredith With…, the punk rock icon gave her thoughts on fronting the band. Jett first appeared with Nirvana for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which she admits was “very humbling and scary to be asked, but as a fan, there was no way I could say no.”

The band again reached out to Jett to play a few songs at Cal Jam 18, which she says was out of the blue but also “strange and weighty.” As for any future plans, including a reunion tour, Jett isn’t aware of anything but feels if asked, she will “figure it out then.”
