Newspaper Tries Way-splaining, Gets Destroyed By My Chemical Romance Fans

“Who is Gerard Way?” asks the UK Metro. That simple question set off legions of fans who couldn’t believe the frontman of one of the biggest band in the 2000s needed to be Way-splained. The paper just wanted to bring its readers up to speed that the writer of The Umbrella Academy comic books turned Netflix series is the former My Chemical Romance singer. Twitter exploded at the daily, with messages reading, “Feeling personally attacked by this headline,” and “If you don’t know who Gerard Way is you’re not allowed to watch The Umbrella Academy”. All this newfound attention towards the band won’t bring them back together though.

Speaking to the UK Guardian, Way says, “I miss playing with the guys, but I don’t think so” regarding a reunion.
