Rivers Cuomo Explains Why ‘OK Human’ Is Being Released Before Van Weezer

Weezer fans were expecting a new album at the beginning of the year, just not this one.

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo told NME exactly why the band decided to release the mellow OK Human before the much anticipated, stadium-ready Van Weezer.

Cuomo says that OK Human was actually completed right before announcing a huge stadium tour with Fall Out Boy and Green Day, but it wasn’t actually a fit for the tour. So, they made Van Weezer.

With tours on hold right now, Weezer got the chance to release OK Human while we wait for Van Weezer to hit in the summer, hopefully before touring starts.

OK Human is out this Friday.

Are you excited to have two albums from Weezer this year? Are you looking forward to their tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy?
