Every year, there seems to be a controversial “sexy” costume for Halloween. This year, it’s based on The Handmaid’s Tale. The costume is called Brave Red Maiden and costs $65.

People on social media quickly bashed the costume as inappropriate since the show depicts the women wearing the outfit being forced to have sex against their will.

I’ve just seen the Handmaids Tale costume trending on here and it hurts my head that some people are breezing over it like it’s just a costume and some saying that it’s just a show it’s not real, and completely forgetting what it stood for.

The company selling the costume, Yandy, removed the item from their website. They apologized for their error in judgment.
