Boner of the Day(Round 1 and 2) for February 12th, 2019

Boner Round 1

Candidate #1: WELL, IF IT’S HALLOWEEN IT’S OKAY ISN’T IT?

Numerous politicians and public figures have come under fire since then for wearing blackface when they were younger, including Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, another Democrat from Virginia. Northam has been fighting off calls to resign from both sides of the aisle over a photo that was published on his medical school yearbook page, showing a person in blackface and another in a KKK regalia. He has repeatedly claimed that he’s not in the pic and told reporters he won’t be stepping down. Northam later admitted, however, during a press conference that he darkened his skin once to resemble Michael Jackson during a 1984 dance contest.
“I had the shoes, I had a glove, and I used just a little bit of shoe polish to put under my — or on my — cheeks,” he said at the Feb. 2 presser. “And the reason I used a very little bit is because, I don’t know if anybody’s ever tried that, but you cannot get shoe polish off.”

Candidate #2: AH…GEORGE WANTS COFFEE AND CAKE POPS. SWEET.

The dating app Bumble ousted George Zimmerman from its platform on Monday after the disgraced neighborhood watchman was discovered trolling for dates. A profile for the Florida man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was discovered by app moderators, who promptly removed the account, a spokesperson told The Post. It was the second time that Zimmerman had been kicked off the app since December. “George Zimmerman was blocked and banned in December 2018 when we first discovered his profile,” a Bumble spokesperson said in an email. “Let’s get coffee and cake pops I’m looking for a mature and fun woman that’s ready to be loved and respected the way she deserves and is able to reciprocate,” Zimmerman wrote on his profile, according to the report.

Candidate #3: YA’LL BETTER LOCK AND LOAD.

Cuba’s Francisco Perez trains for the Men’s Shooting 25m Rapid Fire Pistol competition, during the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC), at the Club Hunting and Shooting in Barranquilla, Colombia, on July 22, 2018. A Kentucky sheriff advised residents to lock their doors and load their guns because police activity was suspended due to a lack of funding. “I will have to move my only other deputy to day shift and that will leave no protection on nights … Law enforcement as we have known for the last four years will not exist.” Kirk wrote. “I’m sure the thieves and drug dealers will have a ball.”

Boner Round 2

Candidate #1: YOU TOLD US WE COULDN’T DO THE ELEPHANT WALK NO MORE SO THIS IS THE REPLACEMENT.

A California fraternity was suspended after a video surfaced purportedly showing a student gagged and bound to a table, according to reports. Sacramento State’s order to Delta Chi on Friday came the same day the footage of a “kidnapped” student pledging the fraternity was sent to the Sacramento Bee newspaper. The anonymous sender — who identified himself as a Delta Chi brother — claimed in an email Friday the fraternity abducted the prospective member while he was sleeping in November 2017. In the eight-second footage, the pledge can be heard screaming as other men take videos and photos on their phones. The video marked the second hazing allegation against the fraternity this year.

Candidate #2: WOW. THAT IS LOVE THAT WILL NOT BE DENIED.

A Missouri nurse is accused of poisoning her husband with antifreeze, then torching her family home as part of an alleged plot to wed a prisoner. Amy Lynn Murray, 40, is charged with first-degree murder, arson and other alleged crimes in connection to the death of Joshua Murray, who was killed in December. The couple was married for about 15 years and had an 11-year-old son, records show. According to police, Murray was in the throes of a romantic relationship with a convicted killer at Jefferson City Correctional Facility, where she worked. That inmate, Eugene Claypool, is serving a life sentence for fatally stabbing a 72-year-old lottery winner on Christmas Day in 2000, and apparently knew about Joshua’s slaying.

Candidate #3: THAT’S FINE MA’AM. WE’RE LOCKING YOU UP ANYWAY.

An Old Bridge woman is charged with breaking into multiple Spotswood cars, and her mugshot released by Spotswood police will likely go down as one of the greatest — and most defiant — of all time. Spotswood police released the mugshot and news of her arrest Monday morning, Feb. 11: Spotswood police say that over the past few months, they’ve been getting “numerous” reports of cars being broken into on Janice Drive.
One resident was able to capture home security footage of a woman trying to break into their car on Jan. 13 and again on Jan. 27, police said. The homeowner gave that video to the police, who shared it on their Facebook page (see below).
Then at 1 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, a Spotswood patrolman said he observed the woman pictured, Shana A. Hilsman of Old Bridge, walking onto a resident’s driveway while wearing the same distinguishable clothing as in the January home surveillance footage. He stopped her, and Hilsman was found to be possession of numerous burglary tools, including a screwdriver, hammer and the same flashlight seen on the surveillance videos, police said. She was placed under arrest at the scene and charged with burglary, criminal trespassing and possession of burglary tools. She was take to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
