A group of biologists made an unexpected discovery in the middle of the Utah desert – a mysterious metal monolith.
The 10-foot structure was found by researchers on a mission to count the local sheep population. No one knows how long the monolith has been there or who installed it – but they were likely a fan of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Officers from the Utah Department of Public Safety's Aero Bureau were flying by helicopter last Wednesday, helping the Division of Wildlife Resources count bighorn sheep, when they spotted a shiny, silver metal monolith sticking out of the ground https://t.co/v3Ny7QWDQo

Officials say they won’t release the exact location of the monolith because it’s in a “very remote area” that could be potentially dangerous for visitors.
How do you think the monolith got there? Was it an artist’s prank, or an alien visit?
