The annual Beef Feast will take place at the special events tent at the Utah State Fair, right next to the Big Yellow Slide. We will serve up delicious steak tenderloin sandwiches along with a bag of chips for only $6! Add in a drink for another $2. You won’t find a better deal at the fair. We start serving at 11 am and will be there while supplies last. Cash or check only please. Of course, this is sponsored by the Utah Pork Council…errr Beer Council…errr Beef Council.
•The Leonardo Presents “Spooky Science”
I am not sure what’s scarier than a class 5 hurricane, but let’s face it, that has nothing to do with science. We will be scaring September 15th to November 5th! Don’t miss out! The exhibit will be available during regular museum hours, 10am-5pm. There’s a cosplay night going on that evening, too.

A walk to raise awareness of suicide in our community. Utah has scary and record numbers when it comes to this subject. We need to talk about it. Be there for each other and let people know there is help.
•Urban Arts Festival at Gallivan Center
Funky art, pinup contests, food trucks and more. Even the man who worked with Beastie Boys, Mix Master Mike, is spinning. The Urban Arts Festival is the largest free community art event in Utah. It is organized by Utah Arts Alliance. The festival showcases hundreds of artists, performers, and musicians. It has received several awards including being named as the “Best New Festival in Utah” a the, “Best Indie Art Event in Utah” and the “Best Fest for the Rest”!

•Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals at Sandy Amphitheater
Ben Harper has been around so long and I’ve had so many friends who have liked his music, I feel I should know at least one of his songs, but I don’t. I had to look this one up on Spotify to find one you might recognize.
•Beer and Ballet at Rose Wagner Center
Enjoy craft beer from Epic Brewing, light appetizers from Blue Iguana, and a first look at the pieces being considered for Works from Within. The never-before-seen choreography is from Ballet West’s own Company members. It’s a social event with a taste of ballet that you won’t want to miss! As summer comes to an end and we put away fun for a couple of seasons, you can still milk a little out of the here and now from 10 am until 6 pm. Then that’s it. Scarfs and pea coats and wights. I swear it! From 10:00am – 2:00pm – Nuzzles & Co. Silly Pet Fest Adoption – Over 25 cats & dogs will be available that are looking for their forever homes. •Make and Create Mondays for Adults
Take your case of the Mondays out on a box of art supplies. Adults are welcome to join us Monday nights in September for a free-form artistic creative hour. We’ll supply various materials and an open room, you supply your open mind and any ideas you’ve been wanting to explore with art. No matter your skill level, art is a great way to work out stress, bring your visions to life, or explore ideas about yourself. Materials will be open to experiment with at 7:00 pm in the Special Collections Room at Main Library, the session will end at 8:00 pm.

No man has been a better celebrity at being himself than Bruce Campbell and he’s back in Salt Lake. Yes! It’s true! Wellers is partnering with the Salt Lake Film Society to bring you a very special evening with Bruce Campbell! This is going to be a cool night. Bruce is touring the country promoting his new book, “Hail to the Chin: Further Confessions of a B-Movie Actor.”, the follow-up to his New York Times bestseller “If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor”. Bruce takes us through his life in the decade since his first memoir and his roles as varied as they are numerous- from his roles in the Spider-Man movies to his self-referential My Name is Bruce to his role on #1 show Burn Notice and his new STARZ hit series Ash vs Evil Dead. BUT! This is no ordinary book tour. It’s a game show! Bruce will be presenting LAST FAN STANDING, a game show like no other! Last Fan Standing gives the entire audience the chance to play along and qualify to be on stage—and attempt to be The Last Fan Standing.
