“Cracker Barrel is out over $9 million after a man was served cleaning liquid.
In 2014, the man was served a full glass of a cleaning chemical instead of a glass of water.
The man says that the one sip he took left permanent damage to his mouth and esophagus, which resulted in numerous medical bills.
“The jury returned a verdict for compensatory damages of $4.3 million in just 30 minutes — one of the fastest verdicts we have ever seen — and awarded punitive damages of $5 million after only 10 minutes of additional deliberation,” the man’s attorney told CNN.
