Florida Man Cheats On Taxes, Nets Huge Return

While IRS refunds are said to be lower in 2019, two years ago Florida man managed to turn his tiny income into big money thanks to some light tax fraud.
Federal agents noticed something wasn’t quite right after Ramon Christopher Blanchett filed his return, listing his free-lancer salary as $18,497 but with a million dollar deduction, netting the Tampa man a $980,000 Treasury check. Banks gave Blanchett the run around for a bit, but eventually took his money, which he then used to buy a used Lexus. Investigators recently caught up with Blanchett, seizing the car and the remaining $919,251 in his account, but haven’t charged him with a federal crime yet, says the Tampa Bay Times.
