Google Maps Users Spot ‘Freshly-Buried Bodies in their Graves’

A number of Google Maps users have made an unnerving discovery in a remote area of Chicago: Two open graves, each containing what appears to be a freshly buried body.

The aerial photo shows two men in the graves, each wearing jeans, and a white T-shirt. Nothing else appears to be anywhere near the graves — no shovels, mourners, or, perhaps, more importantly, other graves.

It turns out the morbid discovery is nothing more than a performance art piece by married artists Dutes Miller and Stan Shellabarger, each of whom dug his own grave and climbed in for the overhead shot. They say their hands are positioned near the other’s so they “can hold hands eternally, metaphorically speaking.”

Do you understand this kind of “art?”
