A widely-circulated video that shows presidential candidate Joe Biden doze off during a televised interview may be funny, but it’s not real.
The clip, which was reportedly posted to Twitter earlier this week by a member of the Trump campaign, was taken down hours later after Twitter technicians determined it had been manipulated. By that time, however, the video had already been re-posted on several other sites.

It turns out the video was made by combining a 2011 interview with singer Harry Belafonte, who actually did fall asleep during the Q-and-A, and an April interview with Biden, who stayed awake through its entirety.
Has the digital age made the phrase “seeing is believing” obsolete? Should candidates be forced out of elections for unscrupulous behavior?
