Venomous snake found lurking in family’s Christmas tree

Most Christmas ornaments don’t move. That’s what alerted a family in South Africa of a visitor in their Christmas tree. Rob and Marcela Wild noticed their pet cats staring at their tree and assumed it was a mouse. Instead, it was a venomous boomslang. Professional snake catcher Garrie Heyns got the snake out of the tree after it had been sitting there for a few hours. “Once I had it under control the family came right up to see the snake,” Heyns said. “It didn’t try to bite or be defensive because I gave it no reason to. A scary moment turned into an exciting moment for the children.” What would you do if you found a snake hanging out inside your Christmas tree? What is the scariest animal you have ever encountered?
