Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus: ‘The Chemo is Working’

Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus has shared some positive news about his battle with Stage 4 Lymphoma.

In a tweet posted on Monday, Hoppus writes, “Scans indicate that the chemo is working,” adding he “still has months of treatment ahead.” He continues, “It’s the best possible news. I’m so grateful and confused and also sick from last week’s chemo. But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of people around me are destroying this cancer. Just gonna keep fighting.”

The good news comes less than a week after Hoppus revealed he’s fighting “large B-cell lymphoma,” which has attacked his bloodstream. “It’s entered enough parts of my body that
I’m Stage 4, which I think is the highest that it goes,” he said at the time. “So, I’m stage 4-A. The cancer isn’t bone-related, it’s blood-related. My blood’s trying to kill me.”

Will we someday see treating cancer with chemotherapy and radiation as barbaric?
