Boner Candidate #2: I’M BUILDING A TENNIS PAVILION FOR MY COMMUNITY. WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR YOURS?

First lady Melania Trump is defending her work on the new White House tennis pavilion after a tweet she posted was roundly criticized as tone deaf amid the coronavirus outbreak. “I encourage everyone who chooses to be negative (and) question my work at the ⁦‪@WhiteHouse⁩ to take time and contribute something good (and) productive in their own communities,” Trump tweeted Saturday. Melania Trump has been silent on coronavirus, which has spread to 28 states, though one of the three pillars of her “Be Best” initiative is “health and well-being of children.”
As of Saturday morning, there are at least 335 reported cases and 17 deaths in the US, according to CNN’s latest count. The first lady’s office did not return CNN’s requests for comment. Fact check: White House falsely claims the coronavirus has been ‘contained’ in the US On Thursday, Melania Trump posted about the construction status on the tennis pavilion, with pictures of her wearing a hard hat and looking over what appear to be architectural plans. The private pavilion will be located on the South Lawn of the White House and serve as a “place to gather and spend leisure time for First Families.”

Boner Candidate #3: DRUNK AND BELLIGERENT, YOU SAY?

An 18-year-old woman who was drunk and belligerent threw a tampon at a deputy after he refused to hold it for her, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they were called to Beach Box Cafe Monday night because two young women were drunk and refused to leave the area. A manager who called 911 said she saw 18-year-old Olivia Pecuch and her friend stumbling around a nearby parking lot so she asked them if they needed help and offered to arrange a ride for them. The Beach Box Cafe employee bent down to pick up some money that the woman dropped and at that point, Pecuch slapped her in the face, according to the report. Deputies said there was a big crowd at the restaurant when they arrived and both women were drunk with bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and alcohol on their breath. A deputy asked Pecuch for her ID, so Pecuch began digging through her purse and pulled out a wrapped tampon and asked the deputy to hold it, but he ignored her so she threw it and hit him with it, records show.

ROUND TWO

Boner Candidate #1: WHAT TYPE OF MEXICAN ARE YOU?

A Syracuse High School student says she was harassed by a fellow student who asked her ‘what type of Mexican’ she was and then threatened to call immigration authorities to deport her family. Syracuse student claims classmate threatened to ‘call ICE and have her family deported’ The incident happened Monday and was reported to school officials that same day, according to the girl’s mother, Mercedes. “He said ‘well, what type of Mexican are you? Are you a Trump supporter or not?’ That’s when he said ‘well, I’m going to call ICE on you and have you and your family deported’,” said Mercedes, who asked to be identified only by her first name. The Davis School District says it investigated the allegation and took ‘appropriate actions’, but could not comment further due to federal education privacy laws. The victim, Irma, is a sophomore at Syracuse High and says the incident with her classmate on Monday was the third time in the last month that she has felt uncomfortable with racial statements made at the school. Boner Candidate #2: YOU ARE BLIND AND WANT TO BE A CITIZEN….I DON’T THINK SO.

But on May 21, Delgado failed the test — because there was one thing the blind man didn’t anticipate. That day in May, Delgado had whizzed through the civics portion, which was oral. He spelled all the English words correctly when asked — words like Thanksgiving and president. But then came the big problem: the reading portion of the exam. The agent said they received his request for Braille, but, unfortunately, USCIS did not have Braille available. They just had large print. “I’m like, I don’t read large print,” he said. “I’m totally blind.” Still, for the record, the officer gave him “three attempts to read a sentence” in English, as USCIS describes it in a letter Delgado provided. And, predictably, whether the print was large or small, Delgado couldn’t read what he couldn’t see. The agent told him that he should come back for a second interview another time so the agents could waive the reading test — but only if he visited an ophthalmologist, rather than an optometrist, to certify he is 100 percent blind. Delgado, who does not have health insurance, said he could not afford to see the specialist. Read More

Boner Candidate #3: BARGAIN BASEMENT DENTISTRY

A local man was arrested Wednesday on charges of practicing dentistry from inside his own home without a license. 56-year-old Jose Santos Vicenty is charged with practicing dentistry without a license. JSO said he was doing it out of the comfort of his own home. JSO officers took dozens of boxes from his home on Kernan Forest Boulevard, Wednesday morning.
“There were police cars up and down the road and undercover agents and so yeah, it was shocking.“ Douglas Mathis said. He lives down the street from Vicenty. “You never want to see a police presence in your neighborhood for something like this.“Action News Jax reporter Meghan Moriarty looked into Vicenty’s background. In 2009, he was found guilty by a judge for the same crime. Vicenty served two years in prison. Moriarty did a records search through the Department of Health and it doesn’t appear that Vicenty was ever a licensed dentist. In Vicinty’s 2009 arrest report, he was claiming to clients that he got his license at the University of Puerto Rico. He also said he performs all procedures, besides root canals. The state of Florida has no record of Vicenty ever being licensed to practice dentistry. Read More
