Fortnite will not be updated on Apple Products

Epic has confirmed it will not be releasing its upcoming Fortnite season, Chapter 2: Season 4, for iOS or macOS, saying the ongoing antitrust feud with Apple over in-app payment processing and other App Store disputes has blocked it from issuing updates and new installs on Apple devices. While this was a suspected development after Fortnite’s removal earlier this month — Epic warned it could happen the day the app was pulled — the season’s launch on Thursday, August 27th had been fast approaching without formal word from Epic on its plans. “Apple is blocking Fortnite updates and new installs on the App Store, and has said they will terminate our ability to develop Fortnite for Apple devices.

‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Overhauled as Directors, Early Scenes Cut

Legendary has overhauled production on “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” parting ways with directors Ryan and Andy Tohill over creative differences, and hiring David Blue Garcia to direct. The departure of the twin brothers came a week into production in Bulgaria. Texas-based Garcia, who made his feature directorial debut with 2018’s “Tejano,” will start the production over from scratch. “Eighth Grade’s” Elsie Fisher is starring along with Sarah Yarkin, Jacob Latimore and Moe Dunford.

“The Powerpuff Girls” could soon fly again. Variety has learned that a live-action version of the classic Cartoon Network series is in development at The CW. In the updated version of the series, the titular superheroes are now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever? The project hails from writers and executive producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden will executive produce via Berlanti Productions. Warner Bros. Television will produce.
