The First Band Dave Grohl Saw Live

Dave Grohl has seen and done a lot over the years, but he remembers his first experience seeing a band live.

In a radio interview, the Foo Fighters frontman revealed that the first band he ever truly saw in concert was called Naked Raygun.

“I saw them at this tiny little hole in the wall across the street from Wrigley Field, this place called The Cubby Bear. This is, like, 1982 or 1983,” said Grohl.

Grohl added, “I’d never seen a band before and my cousin took me to see a punk-rock band, and it totally changed my life.”

Naked Raygun is still together, by the way. They’re working on an album and have even toured with Foo Fighters.

Do you remember the first band you saw in concert? What live music experience do you think was life-changing for you?
