Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Fall Out Boy Concert

When Fall Out Boy takes the stage in Kansas City, Missouri on September 21st, their fans will be rocking out inside the Sprint Center, while outside, the Westboro Baptist Church will hold a protest. The group, which the Southern Poverty Law Center calls “arguably the most obnoxious and rabid hate group in America,” plans to bring their expletive-laden picket signs to several concerts at the venue this fall.

Also in the church’s crosshairs, Maroon 5, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Foo Fighters, Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper. At last year’s Warped Tour, the Westboro protesters were met with a counter-protest from concertgoers and the bands.

Fall Out Boy are playing Vivint Smart Home Arena on October 3rd. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.

Any idea why the group is choosing to protest these bands? Is counter-protesting the best way to make them go away? What would you do?
