Officials in New Zealand say they will press charges against a coronavirus patient who ditched quarantine to go shopping. The 32-year-old man allegedly escaped through a fence while quarantining at the Stamford Plaza hotel in Auckland. He was gone for about an hour while he went to buy groceries. He later tested positive for the virus.

The man had recently returned from a trip to India. New Zealand is trying to stop COVID-19 from coming into the country by placing people who arrive into a 14-day quarantine at different hotels.
