The NYPD has launched an investigation into a video that shows a man standing on the roof of a city bus, shooting fire several feet into the air with a flamethrower.
The clip, which police say was taken November 8th in Brooklyn, shows the shirtless man firing the flamethrower as a crowd cheers and encourages him to keep going. He then jumps off the bus and continues spraying flames from the ground before finally stopping the video shows.

“We don’t even need to say how absurd, dangerous, and just plain stupid this was,” says MTA Communications Director Tim Minton. “The reckless individual who torched over the top of an occupied bus put New Yorkers, including the bus operator, in life-threatening peril.”
Are flame throwers available for the general public to purchase? Should they be?
