‘The Batman’ To Fly In Summer 2021; Ben Affleck Passes The Torch To Next Generation Of Bruce Wayne

Reeves boarded Batman in February 2017, taking over for Affleck who was originally set to direct off a script he wrote with DC’s Geoff Johns. Affleck, we understand has a busy plate:  As Deadline exclusively broke he is starring in and producing the feature adaptation of Kate Alice Marshall‘s novel I Am Still Alive, which Universal won in a competitive bidding scenario. The two-time Oscar winner is also starring in the Warner Bros.’ Gavin O’Connor drama Torrance. Affleck worked hard on The Batmanstory, but knew he wasn’t the right one for this particular version. A search is underway for a new Dark Knight.

Zack Snyder Is Directing Netflix’s ‘Army of the Dead’ Zombie Thriller

Snyder will direct and produce the film with his business partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, through their production company Stone Quarry, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. Army of the Dead, which is currently in the pre-production stage, will start shooting this summer.

Disney buys two Super Bowl TV spots, both possibly for Marvel Studios

In just over a week, the Patriots and Eagles will meet in Minnesota to figure out which team will be this season’s Super Bowl champion. At the same time, studios will kickoff the competition for moviegoers’ dollars by showcasing previews for several blockbusters to be released between now and the end of summer. Disney is entering the game with at least two ads.
