Dropkick Murphys Send Gov. Scott Walker A Love Tweet

Dropkick Murphy’s are demanding that politicians stop using their music… AGAIN. This tweet below was sent out this past Saturday to Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker after he came busting out onto the stage to the tune of “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” at the Iowa Freedom Summit.

@ScottWalker @GovWalker please stop using our music in any way…we literally hate you !!! Love, Dropkick Murphys

Apparently, coming onto the stage to a song made famous by blockbuster hit “The Departed”, a movie about the mob and crooked cops, is a great way to ring the bell of freedom into everyone’s hearts.

This isn’t the first time the famous band from Boston has asked politicians to stop using their music. In 2012, they sent out this post after a similar situation at the Wisconsin GOP convention:

“We just got word that Wisconsin State Rep and Speaker of the State Assembly Jeff Fitzgerald used “Shipping Up To Boston” as his walk-on song yesterday at the Wisconsin GOP Convention in Green Bay.
The stupidity and irony of this is laughable. A Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senate candidate – and crony of anti-Union Governor Scott Walker – using a Dropkick Murphys song as an intro is like a white supremacist coming out to gangsta rap!
Fitzgerald: if you and your staff can’t even figure out your music you might wanna give up on the politics!!!!!|
We stand beside our Union and Labor brothers and sisters and their families in Wisconsin and all over the U.S!
–DKM” (via Dropkick Muphry’s Facebook Page)

Word to the wise Wisconsin politicians, stop trying to be Boston.
