Avengers: Age of Ultron boycotted by hundreds of German cinemas

While Avengers: Age of Ultron made an impressive $201m at the global box office in its first weekend, many small towns in Germany were left without the Marvel blockbuster. Hundreds of cinema owners have refused to show the film, after Disney raised the rental fee, according to Deutsche Welle. Traditionally the film studio would take 47.7% of box-office receipts, but for the superhero sequel, Disney has requested 53%, which has angered many smaller cinemas.

DC Entertainment announced today that bestselling, iconic Batman writer and artist Frank Miller will write the epic conclusion of the celebrated THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS saga. The “THE DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE” is the sequel to Miller’s 1986 classic THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS – heralded by TIME Magazine as one of the 10 greatest graphic novels of all time – and its 2001-2002 follow-up series BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN.

‘Spider-Man’ Animated Film Being Developed by ‘LEGO Movie’ Directors

We can now confirm that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios did, at some point, discuss a deal that would allow Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thanks to the recent hacking of Sony’s internal emails and communication. As of right now, though, that isn’t happening, and Sony has instead selected to keep pressing forward with development on multiple Spidey-related projects – including, surprisingly, an animated comedy featuring the webslinger.
