The 2013 Salt Lake Comic Con was the largest first time Comic Con in North American history. It was the largest convention ever in the state of Utah with over 72,000 attendees and over 52,000 tickets sold. The Salt Lake Comic Con Facebook page was recently named the most popular Facebook fan page of any Utah company (measured by fan engagement).

Today Dan Farr, the man responsible for bringing the SL Comic Con to life, made the following announcement:

Salt Lake Comic Con will hold two Comic Con events in 2014 including:

A 2014 Salt Lake Comic Con Fan Xperience (FanX) April 17-19, 2014.
The second Salt Lake Comic Con event will be held September 4-6, 2014.
Given the incredible fan response to the inaugural Salt Lake Comic Con, we wanted to provide Utah’s passionate fans with another opportunity to participate in other Comic Con and Comic Con like events. The SOLD-OUT success of Salt Lake Comic Con demonstrated the need for another event. This need will be met by adding FanX combined with the September 2014 Salt Lake Comic Con to ensure everyone that wants to experience this event can.

We’ve secured virtually the entire Salt Palace Convention Center and expect to host over 100,000 attendees in April and even more in September.

Initial Celebrity attendees:

Norman Reedus, star of the hit series The Walking Dead will headline the initial celebrity guest list at April’s 2014 FanX. Reedus will be joined by:Walking Dead co-star Chandler Riggs
