Reality television star Josh Duggar believes Christians should enjoy a special right to discriminate against LGBT people or be made victims of discrimination themselves. The star of TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” who works for the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council, said Christians were being forced into silence on social issues such as same-sex marriage, reported CNS News. “Right now in America there is an agenda to silence people of faith, those who hold a dissenting opinion,” Duggar said. “That’s not what America was founded on. America was founded on respect, tolerance, and really not discriminating against people based on their religious convictions.”

A high school baseball coach in Currituck County, North Carolina, has been suspended after he forced his players to spit on him. Justin Hill, who coaches at Currituck County High School, was suspended for one game on April 17, almost two weeks after the spitting incident on April 6, WAVY.comreports. Sources told the station that Hill was angry when nine players skipped practice on Friday, April 3. At the next practice, Hill ordered all the players to spit in his face, which was his way of calling their tardiness disrespectful, according to FayObserver.com.

Republican U.S. House Representative Bill Flores of Texas argued this week that violence in Baltimore could be linked to the legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States. On the Wednesday edition of the Family Research Council’s Washington Watch radio program, Flores told FRC President Tony Perkins that crowds of conservatives were showing up at the U.S. Supreme Court to urge justices to support the “rights of tradition marriage.” Perkins suggested that the government was just creating more problems for itself as courts throughout the nation continued to rule that LGBT people should have equal marriage rights. “A lot of these problems are created by the breakdown of the family, which the redefinition of would only accelerate,” Perkins opined.
