That’s right folks, Jimmy Fallon and Nicole Kidman could have been tabloid fodder about 10 years ago… If only Jimmy wasn’t such a dummy.
In this Tonight Show interview from the other night, Jimmy recalls the last time he and Nicole had seen each other. A mutual friend of theirs called Jimmy to tell him that Nicole wanted to meet him, presumably to discuss a movie she was making. What Jimmy didn’t realize was that Nicole had a little crush on him and was actually interested in meeting him to see if they might get to know each other a little better. Instead of taking the opportunity to woo her, a clueless Jimmy Fallon welcomed her to his apartment wearing a baseball cap and sweat pants. As they both recall, at some point during the visit Jimmy seemed more interested in playing video games than talking to Nicole.
The best part of this video is the moment Jimmy realizes he had a legitimate shot with Nicole. Even though most of these talk shows are pre-planned and scripted, it is pretty clear by Jimmy’s authentic reaction that either his producers, Nicole, or both kept Jimmy in the dark about this portion of the interview.
As we all know, Jimmy Fallon is happily married with two children and Nicole Kidman found the love of her life in Keith Urban, but one can’t help but wonder what the world would have been like if this unlikely pair had a better first encounter.
