X96 Top 50 Songs of 2014

2014 certainly was an interesting year for music. Lorde held strong. Foo Fighters brought their A-game owning the ALS Ice Bucket Challange and putting out an 8-part documentary in addition to the album, “Sonic Highways”. Big Data came out of nowhere and was everywhere with “Dangerous”, which is possibly the best music video of 2014. Beck brough all the funk to the Twilight Concert Series. Death From Above 1979 put out a new album after ten years and was arguably the best show to tour through Salt Lake. Bleachers left a huge wake on the music scene. Billy Idol shared the bill with Bleachers and Priory, selling out the X96 Nightmare Before Xmas Show. We partied in the rain at the X96 Big Ass Show with Neon Trees, Phantogram and an earth-shaking performance from A Day to Remember. On top of that, X96 started our Lounge X sessions and a lot of artists drop by for stripped-down performances and to meet their fans (look for many, many more of these in 2015).

So we did the math. We ran the algorithms, tallied music sales in Utah and double-checked your request totals. Here are X96’s Top 50 Songs of 2014:
